The Valeo PLIF is made of silicon nitride, a twenty-first century, non-oxide material proven in high stress conditions such as jet engines and race cars, where exceptional strength, durability, and reliability are crucial. Formed when powdered components are combined under great pressure and temperature, silicon nitride implants are incredibly dense, strong, fracture tough, and hydrophilic. What’s more, Amedica is the only company in North America with the technology and state-of-the-art facility to design and produce medical grade silicon nitride — technology we’ve incorporated into the patented Valeo PLIF Spacer, an implant with a dense outer ring to replicate the load bearing function of cortical bone, and knurls to bite into bone and reduce implant migration. Closely inspected to ensure the highest quality, each implant comes pre-packaged and operating room ready.
