Spinal Tumor
Spinal tumors are a mass of cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign) cells located in or around the spinal cord or within the bones of the spine. A spinal tumor or growth of any kind can affect nerves in the area of the tumor, leading to pain, neurological problems, and sometimes paralysis.
Symptoms of spinal tumors may include: Incontinence and decreased sensitivity in the buttocks, lower extremity weakness, sensory loss, rapid onset paralysis, and back pain. The diagnosis of primary spinal cord tumors is very difficult, mainly due to its symptoms, which tend to be wrongly attributed to more common and benign degenerative spinal diseases.
